Going Out In My Mailbag Today: 2 Items!

Items # 1 & 2: Postcrossing Post Cards.

The card at the top is on its way to a high school student in Poland, who really likes music and says one of her idols is Madonna. I wrote on the card about how I'm 21 and I went to my first ever concert in November with my sister-in-law, and how we went to see one of my favorite bands The Pretty Reckless, which is headlined by one of my musical idols Taylor Momsen.

It's always funny, especially during the holiday season, when I look back and think about how Taylor Momsen used to portray an adorable little Who child in the Jim Carey version of The Grinch, then she went on to play first naive then envelope-pushing Jenny Humphrey in the show Gossip Girl, which was definitely a guilty pleasure of mine when it was still airing. And now she's a badass, no nonsense, highly sexual rock icon that has yet to fully sell out.

I do idolize her in a way. I remember going out to Niagara Falls for my 19th birthday and I decided to wear skinny jeans, this humongous push-up bra, and I basically had on a slip as a top. I caught my friend's younger brother staring at me when I took off my jacket to eat, it was pretty hilarious.

When I went to see her live I was so excited. I dressed up, adding safety pins to the top of this half-faux-leather shirt and I did this really dark eye make-up look just like how she wears it. Even with all the black stuff I put on my eyelids, it didn't look bad at all.

Anyway, tangent over XD

The second card I sent out I was especially excited about, because it was meant for a girl in Germany who is an anime and manga geek just like me! I was so impressed that I sent her my favorite of the Toronto post cards I picked up.

I also told her about the post cards I received for Christmas (the ones from The Princess Bride that I showed pictures of in an earlier post) and said that if she ever wanted one I would be glad to send one her way. After all, it isn't too often that I find a fellow geek like me on Postcrossing. Turns out she draws manga as well, which is pretty awesome!

That's all the mail-related news I have to share for now! As always, I'll keep you guys posted.
