Item #1: Postcrossing Postcard from Belarus!
First off, Happy February everyone! I think my very first piece of mail for the year holds a lot of themes that seem to relate to this month in particular; pink, hearts, and a while bundle of cuteness!
This card is obviously adorable, and on the reverse side it contained something I had never seen before on a card or letter; a triangular stamp. It was a Christmas stamp I believe, with the scene of the manger decorated on it, but it was still very unique, and I told the sender as such when I sent her a thank you message. There was a spot on the card for her return address, and she had written it in, so I also happened to ask her if she would be interested in an exchange of any kind. She hasn't responded to me yet, so I guess we'll have to wait and see.
Monday happened to be one of those days where everything seemed to be working against me. Most of the weekend felt to be that way actually, but it was nothing very dire, just stupid small things. I had a raging migraine all through my 8 hour shift on Saturday, which led me to fall asleep almost as soon as I got home, then I woke up at 5 AM on Sunday. I took an Advil Nighttime, since my head was still hurting, and I conked out again, my head still bugging me. I spent the day at home instead of going to my volunteer job, and while I tried to work on a paper I had due on Tuesday, I wasn't really motivated.
Then Monday came, and it was one thing after the other. First off, I didn't get to sleep until 3 AM, on the day where I have to wake up the earliest out of the week. Of course. Another thing that sucked is that at some point I bit my lip, and while I tried to fall asleep I kept chewing on that bit of my lip for whatever reason. When I woke up it had swollen XP Some cold milk with my breakfast brought the swelling down, but I was still self-conscious about it all day.
As the day went on I had no time in-between classes to work on my paper, I spilled milk in my hair while I was getting ready for work (yes, I drink a lot of milk), and then all I did for my shift was basically stand around for 3 hours when I could've been working on my paper, and it bothered me the whole time. Don't you hate that?
Not all was lost of my shift though; I spent the majority of the time reading the Kick-Ass graphic novel for the first time. The art in those is rather interesting.
Anyway, I don't mean to be whining, I'm sorry if it comes off that way. Typically I do complain about stuff, but that's more so to people that have to put up with me; you guys obviously don't XD So I finished my paper this morning, and I don't have a lot due before I go away during my reading week to Wasaga Beach to stay with and visit my aunt and uncle. For the next two weeks, there shouldn't be much to complain about :)
Even so, knowing me, I'll find something to complain about one way or another :P
I'll keep you guys posted!
