Item #1: Smartphone Photography Kit from +Photojojo!
Truth be told, I actually received this on Wednesday in the mail XP But I didn't get to open it until Thursday because my boyfriend was over and distracting me and I forgot to check the mail. I blame him for this XD Seems I blame the boyfriend for a lot. . .
Anyway, I love how various online shops are coming up with ideas to improve the experience for their customers, not only as they're ordering products but even down to the moment when they receive and open their package.
Let me explain what I mean: When I went to buy this starter kit (special thanks to +Joanna Volavka for providing a $5 coupon on Twitter that I used for this order :D), they provided an option to include a Fresh Baked Cookie scent with your package for $1. Intrigued, I clicked on that option, and as I waited for my package to arrive I completely forgot about it.
Well, I opened up the plastic and I am met with the most tantalizing, amazing scent as I rip the package open. The scent still lingers on the items I ordered and around my room as well. I frequently go up to where I've hung the air freshener and keep sniffing it. This is the best scent ever! If I had a whole bunch of these I would include them in every item I decided to send to people, because this is probably a guaranteed way to get a person to smile. Plus, ever since receiving this package, I've been craving cookies. . .
Not only that, but my package came along with something else as well! There was a cool sticker on the label which I thought was pretty awesome, but didn't actually stop to think to think too much about it.
It's cute, right? Anyway, later after I opened my package, I was lying on my bed looking at the order receipt, which included my starter kit, the chocolate chip cookie scent, as well as mentioning some sort of dinosaur, for which the price next to it read $0.00. I figured that just pertained to the sticker. But later on I held up the plastic package to examine the sticker. That's when something scary-looking fell out of the package and towards my face. Taken by surprise, I squealed and jumped up. Looks like there actually was a Stow-away-asaurus included in my package!
Isn't it cute?! I'm thinking I should name him, but I haven't had any ideas yet. I'm open to suggestions though! I'm assuming that this little guy is a male because there's a bit of extra plastic under his dino-chin, and to me it looks like a goatee XDD Post in the comments if you'd like to take a crack at a name for him.
Anyway, should probably talk more about the contents of the package that I placed the order for. What you saw in the first image is the contents of the Phoneography Starter Kit, which contains:
- 1 Macro/Wide Angle Smart Phone Lens
- 1 Multicoloured Phone Filter Slide
- 1 Bag of Confetti (Yay!) With a Card for Phoneography 101, aka photo lessons
- 1 Zip-Up Bag to hold everything!
All in all I am very happy with this purchase. I haven't been able to get the macro lens to work yet (everything just looks blurry), and I haven't seen any difference with the wide angle lens yet. But I'm going to try out the photo lessons, and hopefully they will teach me how to properly use the lenses I've purchased. Hoping all these items will help me take more interesting photos for my Photo-A-Day Challenge :)
Item #2: Postcrossing Postcard from Germany!
I'm sure nerds everywhere will shake their heads in disgust as they read this confession, but it actually took me much longer than it should have to figure out that this was a Doctor Who themed postcard XP At first I was like "A wanted posted, some aliens, and a shot of London? What the hell?" I'm pretty sure I thought it was a bad Photoshop job or something XD
But I was able to figure it out when I actually looked at the name on the wanted poster. I haven't become a die hard fan of Doctor Who yet, I've only seen a couple episodes. But I keep hearing from my friends and fellow iggles and various people on Twitter how amazing the show is, and I fully intend to find out for myself at some point. In fact, my boyfriend hasn't seen the show either, and I'm thinking one day we may watch it together. Although first he has vowed to expand my nerdy horizons by showing me Star Wars and Lord of the Rings and other various movies and shows.
Now, I'd like to try something a little different with you guys. Recently I picked up a book for myself, titled Question A Day. There's a question dedicated to each day, and there's 5 lines on each page, so the book lasts for 5 years. I figured that I should share these questions, as well as my answers, with you guys. If you feel like it, you can post a common to answer the question for yourself.
Question of the Day
My Answer: "Edit a video or research my Jane Austen Paper Droids article or work on blog stuff. Or relax - panic spell today."
Question: If you could add one hour to your day, what would you do with it?
Let me know in the comments! Until next time, I'll keep you all posted.
