Excited for spring yet? Myself and ShelbyFromTheTwp certainly are!
That's why the two of us decided to come up with this link-up post that is a combination of Springtime excitement and a Reading/Book tag.
All you have to do is answer the questions below that we came up with - and feel free to include the image above and any of your own photos in your blog post - and then post a link to your blog post in the comments below. Shelby and I will be sharing the posts of people that participate in this over social media, specifically Twitter. Feel free to use #SpringIntoReading when sharing this post over your own social media outlets.
You can find a link to Shelby's post here. Now let's get to the questions!
#1: What are 5 words that you most associate with spring? Daffodils, tulips, showers (as in April showers bring May flowers, don't be gross :P), Easter and beginnings.
#2: It's a rainy spring day outside. What book would you decide to pull out to bring a little sunshine into your day? Many books by Sarah Dessen would do the trick here, although my favorite book by her that always cheers me up is The Truth About Forever. Also, another book that never fails to put a smile on my face is Love, Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli.
#3: What article(s) of clothing are you anxious to break out once the snow has melted and spring is here to stay? I have this white lacy dress that I bought last year, and it is the epitome of the spring dress as far as I'm concerned XD It's really pretty and isn't warm enough to wear during the winter, so I can't wait to be able to wear that again, plus there's a couple other spring dresses in my closet that I'm excited to wear out again.
#4: Springtime means love is in the air, and even our favorite characters aren't immune to the spring fever-y sensation of being twitter-pated (to quote Bambi). What is your favorite romantic/cute/steamy scene in a book, and which book is it from? Well, pretty much any scene between Maxon and America from The Selection series belongs in any 3 of those categories XD One of the cutest moments in fiction I've come across is in the 5th Princess Diaries book by Meg Cabot, Princess in Pink, where Michael and his band mates skip their various classes in order to play a song for Mia on her birthday that Michael wrote especially for her. It is so incredibly sweet!
#5: When the snow is melted and the ground is (hopefully) neither wet nor cold, do you have a favorite outdoor reading spot? I like to read on my front porch when the weather's nice, and I'll throw on a sweater if it starts to get a bit chilly. We have these really comfy chairs and a sofa with soft pillows that belong on our porch, so it's nice to bring a drink and a book outside and just relax while occasionally looking up to enjoy the view of my street.
#6: Are there any books being released during the springtime months that you are excited for? SO MANY BOOKS are due this spring, you can't imagine my excitement (although the use of caps gives you an idea.) First is The Heir by Kiera Cass, the next book in The Selection series, will be out May 5th, which excites me greatly. Also P.S. I Still Love You by Jenny Han, the sequel for To All The Boys I Loved Before comes out on May 26th I believe. There's also The Remedy by Suzanne Young, a prequel to The Program series, which looks weird but intriguing. Also while it technically comes out before the 1st day of spring, I'm looking forward to reading Vanishing Girls by Lauren Oliver since I've enjoyed other books of hers in the past. Plus there's also a couple of manga series that are releasing new volumes in the spring, such as Spell of Desire Vol 4 & Black Rose Alice Vol 4 being out on May 5th,
Hope that other bloggers out there will want to participate in this link-up, and I know both myself and Shelby are looking forward to reading other people's answers! Please be sure to include a link to Shelby's post or mine or both in your post; we'd greatly appreciate it :)
