Because I've been more or less broke the entire summer, buying books has been near the bottom of my priority list. Now that I have a year-round job, once I have a little extra spending money, it will finally be time to hit up the local bookstore where I used to work :) There's a decent number of books I'm hoping to pick up, and some of them haven't even been released yet, but I'm still excited to get my readin' on!
#1: Girl Online: Going Solo by Zoe Sugg! Been waiting quite a long time for the 3rd addition (probably the end?) of this series. I've reviewed both the first and second book in the Girl Online series by the beloved Zoella, and I have mentioned that both of these books were there for me at pretty difficult times in my life, and the anxious main character is somebody I can easily connect with. I loved how she is seeking out being independent and pursuing her dreams, and I can't wait to read more about how things will go for her in the next edition of this series.
2: The Tattooed Heart by Michael Grant! It's been quite a while since I read the first book in Michael Grant's Messenger of Fear series, and I'm dying for the next installment. It's been out for a while, but I just didn't have the time or the funds to acquire it. Messenger of Fear was the first horror YA novel I ever attempted to read, and even though parts of it freaked me out to the point where I had to put the book down on the table and shove it as far away as possible, it still had a solid grip on me up until the very end.
#3: Heartless by Marissa Meyer! This summer, I managed to listen to the entire Lunar Chronicles audiobook series, and I absolutely adored them (not to mention I was cursing myself out for not getting into them way sooner)! Meyer definitely has a flare for putting an amazing spin on classic fairy tales, and I'm positive that Heartless won't disappoint when it's released in early November.
#4: Replica by Lauren Oliver! I have loved everything I've read so far by Lauren Oliver. Okay, there may have been a point when I wanted to throw my copy of Vanishing Girls across the room, but that was because I happened to stop reading at a very inconvenient time. When I picked it up again and finished the book, I felt much better. Anyway, this is a book that you can read in a number of ways - one character's perspective and then another, alternating chapters, and many more! It's the first in what she's calling a duo-ology, and I'm looking forward to when this book will be out on the shelves.
#5: What Light by Jay Asher!!! You should have seen me when I first learned that this book was coming out - I made the loudest gasp that my mom thought I was suddenly in a lot of pain XDD Now, to explain my excitement, for those living under a Young Adult rock, Jay Asher is the author of one of the most beautiful YA novels ever, Thirteen Reasons Why. He also co-wrote another book, but it's his debut novel that he's most famous for. It came out when I was in high school, and me along with all of my friends were completely obsessed with it. The fact that he's finally coming out with another solo novel is beyond normal excitement!!! I will undoubtedly be trying to pick up this book the day it's out :P
