I found a post with this tag on Lazy Lady's blog and I thought that it might be a good spot of fun! Like the rest of the world, I am obsessed with Pokemon Go, and still enjoy trips out with my boyfriend to go out and find Pokestops and to walk enough to hatch our respective Poke-Eggs. Big thanks to Read At Midnight for creating this tag as well as all the awesome graphics.
I used to read a lot in grade school, but lost interest for a little while in the 7th grade, then in high school I started reading manga non-stop, then my friends convinced me to read the Twilight series, which led to other vampire YA fiction, which led to me reading everything else. Still, I'd hate to say that Twilight started my love for reading in my young adult life, so I'm going to say Flipped by Wendelin Van Draanen. It was turned into an awesome movie a few years back, but before that it became a book I loved followed by a book I had to hunt down because I couldn't remember the name of the title or author anymore. It took me years to finally order myself a hardcover copy for my collection :)
People are gonna hate me for this - and it is on my bucket list to finally finish this series someday, I swear - but I'm gonna have to say the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling.
That would have to be the Lunar Chronicles by Marissa Meyer. I recently finished this entire series by listening to the audiobooks (which I whole-heartedly recommend, btw), and even though I went in thinking they would just contain clever twists on fairy tale classics, I didn't expect it to turn into such a gripping saga.
That would be Game of Thrones/A Song of Ice and Fire - as much as I love the show, I can't wrap my head - let alone my hands - around the books in the series.
Pride and Prejudice - need I say more?
Absolutely The Messenger by Michael Grant. This book was my introduction to horror/suspense, and the descriptions of the horrible fates that befell some of these people freaked me out, but still left me dying for the sequel, which has been out for a while and I really need to hurry up and buy it! XD
America & Prince Maxon from The Selection Series by Kiera Cass. I will always have love in my heart for this series, especially for its main characters.
Is it cheating to list a graphic novel? Too bad, I'm going with Fables by Bill Willingham. I'm not super far in this series, but I always enjoy digging into one of these graphic novels.
It's obviously not a series, but I never get tired of seeing new versions made of Emma by Jane Austen. From Clueless and beyond, this is a story that I enjoy reading and viewing again and again.
Tough one... After doing some poking around on the internet, I've decided on Carnival by Stephanie Garber. It might be because I recently watched the first episode of HBO's Carnivale with my boyfriend and his family, but I think the plot sounds pretty interesting, and I'm looking forward to the book's release in late January of next year.
Since her amazing debut novel from last year, Everything, Everything, I would have to choose Nicola Yoon, which is why I cannot wait to get my hands on her newest release. Oh, also Zoe Sugg because I love her YA series so much!
I've heard a lot about the Gone series by Michael Grant, and with how much I loved The Messenger, I think that his Gone series is worth a shot, even with all the many years of hype surrounding it.
Not sure if this counts, but I've been waiting for Jay Asher to release more books as beautiful and amazing as Thirteen Reasons Why. He did collaborate on another book, and I did enjoy it, but I'd love to see more books written by him.
I don't just want to list the Lunar Chronicles again, so I will go with The Red Queen by Victoria Ayeward. One thing I remember about the first book is that it felt like it was reaching its conclusion less than halfway through the book, but there was still so much to go, and it made me really excited! I didn't know what to expect when I bought it, but I was completely overwhelmed with the awesomeness of it all - and it's about time I got on to reading the second book! XD
I reiterate: Pride and Prejudice... need I say more? :P
And I will tag... Anyone who wants to give this tag a shot! XDD Enjoy!
