5 Favorite Fictional Pets

If there's one type of secondary character that gets underlooked in a lot of fiction, from books to movies to TV shows, it's probably the pets and other fun creatures. We adore them, we'll even set their image to be our avatar, but I'm curious if anyone ever imagines what it would be like if they themselves lived with one or some of their favorite pets from their favorite fictions. Narrowing the list down to 5 was hard, but somehow I managed.

#1: Jiji from Kiki's Delivery Service! The main reason I almost pitched a fit when I watched the new updated version of Kiki's Delivery Service when it was re-released on DVD and Blu-Ray was because, among the many edits that were made, the majority of Jiji's dialogue is cut out! How unfair is that?! The joy of this talking cat is his attitude and his reactions to the world around him. He's also something of an outward conscience for Kiki, and who doesn't need someone like that in their life?

#2: Beta Seven from Cybersix! Not only is Beta Seven a partner and reliable backup when Cybersix needs it, but Beta Seven is also her/his brother transported into the body of a... Jaguar? Panther? I'll admit, it's been a while, and I can't exactly remember. Either way, Beta Seven has her/his back, and has proven himself to be a reliable companion.

#3: Kirara from InuYasha! Not only is she positively adorable, but she can also transform into a huge-badass cat that you can ride! I don't have a drivers' license, but riding and flying around on Kirara's back would be fine by me :)

#4: Puppycat from Bee & Puppycat! Not only would I love to have Puppycat around for the adorableness factor, and the species ambiguity, but there's plenty of fun temp jobs that come along with having Puppycat as a friend, and more cash is always helpful! I also love Puppycat's voice, so much so that I have it set for my text tone XD

#5: Mushu from Mulan! Who wouldn't want a pet voiced by Eddie Murphy?! :P Mushu is definitely more of a buddy and a guardian than a pet, and I think it'd be cool to have him around and go on fun adventures. It would be kind of like having an external conscience, but one that wasn't a cricket XD
