Hi, I'm Kacie!
I'm a 28 y/o geek girl from southern Ontario. I have a BA in English: Writing, Rhetoric & Discourse Studies (I only say the full name when I want to impress people ;P), and I've also completed a post-grad certificate program in Creative Book Publishing from Humber College.
I love to read & write, and I hope to do as much as I can of both in my lifetime. It's my lifetime aspiration to become a published novelist.
I plan on spending my retirement travelling to various conventions all over the world, from San Diego Comic Con to VidCon to WonderCon and beyond. I’m a proud Hufflepuff and I love playing around with paper crafts, especially when I'm creating a brand new piece of happy mail to send to my IGGPPC pen pal of almost 8 years.
About My Blog:
I started The Written
Word(s) in late 2013 because I wanted to connect with people in a new way.
2013 was a great year – the year I joined the International Geek Girl Pen Pals
Club, the year I started vlogging and forming connections with people online,
and the year I began to fully embrace my geeky interests and my own brand of weirdness as a big part of my personal identity.
Since I was a kid I’ve always loved to write, and that was
a way in which I wanted to try connecting with people from all over the world.
I started writing about my reinvigorated love for snail mail that the IGGPPC
provided, and I've also written about as many fandom-based topics as I could conceive
to write about. I write about things I love, things I’m passionate about,
things I hope for, and through the course of that I’m expanding what The Written Word(s) means every time I
publish a new post.
